Vulcans. Can never just outright say something, it's like trying to figure out a verbal puzzle. In any case, I have seen the pictures you and the chi other Spock have been passing back and forth. I am somehow not surprised to find you amused by them. I am more surprised that you have yet to request a pet for our quarters. The answer is no.

1. Why did you decide to stay under my command after other ships began to incorporate more Vulcans into their command?

You say no in such a reactionary tone. I will continue to gather my arguments.

1. Why would I shift my loyalty to an inferior commander? I have never been anything less than satisfied with my position under your command. And I do mean that in every sense.

2. I am not entirely comfortable discussing that in this public forum. I experienced the sensation of it as though I were there, and he called out to me as he bled. The familial connection between us was... painful as it was severed. Do you require more detail?

Indeed many things will, including regular brushing to remove loose fur and certain alterations to the ventilation system which would gather any shed hair through the use of air currents.

The hell hounds are very striking beasts. However, they are not well-suited to life aboard a starship. Also, they slobber.

That is untrue. They ruined three pairs of my trousers the last time I visited with them for any length of time. Also, their paws are very... rumpling. And they smell.

They are active creatures, unlike felines who want to lounge about all day like people were there meant to serve them.

Cats lounge and expect humans to serve them because it is the most logical course of action, particularly when confined upon a starship.
