[OOC - I hope everyone enjoys this. I had been keeping track of the backstory/timeline of my version of nu!mirror!Pike for some time, but I fleshed it out more fully so it could be viewed and used for mirror!Spock. It will have to be added to the more I roleplay as him, so please do not be surprised if changes are made! Thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] kirktastic for making the image contained within and hosting it on his server!]

2213.224 - Pike born

Some information on Pike's younger years can be found here.

2232 - Spock born (Pike 19)

         - Training for Spock begins under Sarek

"You, like myself, will be a vrekasht. Apart from all, a lone star in an endless sky." Sarek begins to train his son, Spock, nearly from birth in the ways of the ancient Vulcans. To keep anyone from knowing his son's level of training as well as protect his son against the other Vulcans, Sarek performed what was considered an act so foul and abominable among their people that its methods had been lost in time; he destroyed Spock's connections to the rest of Vulcan's people except for himself and his mother and made Spock into a vrekasht (an outsider.)

2235 - Pike drafted, scanned, found to be psi-strong, put on extreme regimented courses (Pike 22, Spock 3)

Pike was drafted by Starfleet Academy in 2235. Due to the regulations in place, he was immediately screened and discovered to be particularly psi-strong for a human. Along with his normal courses, Pike was placed into special training to develop his mind. Training by another psi-strong human by the name of Ahlana, Pike developed shielding against torture of the mind along side of torture of the body in the normal Terran Empire command track courses.

Along with the disciplines in being able to command a ship and protect against capture, Pike was trained in combat as were all students in any track in their various ways. With the knowledge of a possible rebellion, they were particularly trained to fight in the extreme heat, low oxygen, and higher gravity that would be on Vulcan. Pike elected to take additional training exercises in extreme cold, additional levels of higher gravity, several language courses including Orion, Romulan, Klingon, Andorian, and specializing in Vulcan due to his dual-tracks, and worked further with his teacher Ahlana.

2238 - The Vulcan Rebels reveal themselves and begin attacking the Empire. (Pike 25, Spock 6)

As Spock grew, the Rebellion began in full. By this point in his life, Spock had been training in the art of mental shielding at the level of an elder for at least a year and was continuing to learn.

2239 - Pike graduates from the academy. (Pike 26, Spock 7)

Pike was immediately put into war on Vulcan, working against the large rebellion. Sarek, knowing he needed to make sure Spock was prepared to fully take over his position as the rebel leader, began to train Spock in the ways of Eschak, the ways of psychokinetic strength to kill another, and Ahkhinahr and Foshinahr, the ancient trainings to become a defensive psionic warrior. Both father and child lived a double-life, with Spock being forced to hide the training that would one day make him a very powerful figure for the Vulcans.

2243 - Death of the Rebel Leader (Sarek), Vulcan rebellion ended (Pike 30, Spock 11)

At the worst of circumstances for the Empire on Vulcan, Pike elected to go on a suicide mission. With only two other men, one being his long time partner in the academy and in the war, and a very small amount of supplies, they crossed the deserts of Vulcan to where the rebels had created a base crafted in stone, fed by underground springs, replicating food to be entirely self-sustained. The crossing was painful, nearly killing two of the men and losing one in the process despite their training in heat endurance that allowed them to fight on the planet. It was the only way they believed they could get someone within striking range without being seen. Together, the two remaining men slipped into the rebels' base and worked on finding any way they could to disable the rebels or kill their higher in command.

In the very short version of this story, Pike's partner was killed by the rebel leader. In what would be regarded as legend among Vulcan and Terran alike, Pike killed the rebel leader in armed combat. It was revealed that the rebel leader was actually Sarek. Pike gained recognition as a hero of the Empire.

Spock was torn. To chose between accepting the role his father had laid out for him, or to rebel as Sarek had done and follow another path.

         - Amanda takes Spock to Earth

After the death of her bond mate and husband, Amanda was broken in heart and spirit; she had been unknowing of her husband's leadership of the rebellion. With nothing left to tie her to Vulcan and a child confused and lost, she decided to take her chance and free Spock from any chance of slavery. They went to Earth, and after proving Spock's half-blood, Spock was allowed to be enrolled into the Terran education system. Starting even this young, Spock was required to keep gloves on his hands at all times. To be seen without them meant physical violence against the child.

         - Pike becomes FO on the I.S.S. Aldrin

Pike's first official assignment to a ship came in 2243 under Captain Kamnash.

2245 - I.S.S. Aldrin - Kills Captain Kamnach on the bridge, takes over. Doesn't stay. (Pike 32, Spock 13)

It took just under two years of Kamnash's idicocy for Pike to finally give into his urgings to be rid of the man. Even in the kill-or-be-killed lifestyle of the Empire and its rankings, Pike took what would be considered a violent manner of removing Kamnash from his leadership, which could be summed in the following fashion:

        "Sir?"
        "Yes?"
"I relieve you of duty." Slice of the throat.

        ...

"Someone clean up this corpse and my chair."
        "Yessir."

This was not the ship Pike had any desire to remain with, though. He remained captain only long enough to return the ship to Earth's orbit, and abandoned the ship for its crew to squabble over.

         - I.S.S. Yorktown - Begins five year mission as Captain.

Despite, or perhaps in light of, the treachery Pike displayed on the I.S.S. Aldrin, Pike was placed as Captain of the I.S.S. Yorktown for its five year mission. Pike's first officer was a particularly ruthless woman known only as Number One who he had to stop assassination attempts from many times.

2246 - Enterprise design begins (Pike 33, Spock 14)

In 2246, Pike was given the chance to design a battle cruiser. It would take two years and every bit of his legend as a war hero to allow what would be considered an expensive and massive ship even in terms of the Fleet, but it was difficult to arrange while away from Earth.

2248 - Enterprise construction begins (Pike 35, Spock 16)

While the newborn ship was just starting to develop in physical form, now dubbed the I.S.S. Enterprise as it would be a ship that was as progressive as past ships to bear the name, Pike was deep into his five year mission.

         - Spock enters the academy

It had taken a great deal of effort, time, and favors pulled to put Spock into the Academy, but it was never easy for the half-Vulcan. Despite his hardships, even in his first year, Spock would progressively destroy any record held previously by any other student, taking more, higher level courses and proving himself top of his classes.

2250 - Five year mission with the I.S.S. Yorktown ends, Pike returns to Earth, overseeing Enterprise construction. (Pike 37, Spock 18)

It was in the beginning of this year that one of Number One's assassination attempts would nearly succeed. The knife left a particularly large scar circling across the left and back side of his ribs. At the end of the five year mission with the I.S.S. Yorktown, Pike decided to return to Earth. He was immediately put in charge of the Enterprise's construction as well as being put in charge of training psi-capable trainees, as rare as they are. During this time, Pike worked closely with the Reagent in charge of Vulcan and was on the planet often.

         - Pike meets James T. Kirk (Pike 37, Kirk 19)

It was also during this time that, in a fairly unchanged beginning of meeting from the movie, Pike meets James T. Kirk. Their meeting ends much differently. Pike forced Kirk into coming to the Academy under the draft, which Kirk had been deftly dodging to date, by giving him two choices: a penal colony or the academy. It also involved a bit of bloodshed on Pike's part as well. Pike kept an eye on the young Kirk due to his father's reputation.

2252 - Enterprise maiden flight, Spock chosen for crew. (Pike 39, Spock 20)

A detailed version of Spock's chosing for being part of Pike's crew can be seen here in a 'fic' format. Part 1 and Part 2. In the beginning of 2252, the Enterprise took her maiden flight with a crew of 1,152 people aboard.

         - The Enterprise's first five year mission

In the last quarter of 2252, the Enterprise swept out into her first five year mission.

2253 - Pike receives wounds from energy whip (Pike 40, Spock 21)

A detailed version of how Pike came to wear such terrible scars around his right forearm can be read here in 'fic' format. Part 1 and Part 2.

         - Spock branded with CRP mark on his wrist.

Shortly following the whip incident, Pike 'convinced' Spock to allow a unique brand to be carved into his skin.

- Thank you to Kirktastic for creating the image and being kind enough to host it!

2253 - James T. Kirk graduates from the Academy as a tactical officer.

And served on another ship for a five year mission as such.

2257 - End of first five year mission (Pike 44, Spock 25)

During this short time between missions, Pike and Spock both accepted positions in the Academy.

2258 - Beginning of second five year mission (Pike 45, Spock 26, Kirk 25)
         - Spock becomes first officer, Kirk joins crew as tactical officer

2259 - Pon farr! :D (Pike 46, Spock 27)

Pon farr struck Spock unexpectedly in 2259 during shore leave on Earth. Both were completely unprepared and alone. Spock attacked Pike while the man was showering and thus devoid of his normal weapon (gloves), and the next three days broke Pike's body and mind. The shields that Pike had developed through his training and the years were completely shattered from the inside out. McCoy, Boyce's second in command of sickbay, was brought in to heal Pike over the course of the next several days. When it was complete, Pike ordered Spock to remove the memories from McCoy. The bond that had been forming over many years between Pike and Spock was now completed, but at a great strain and near dissolving of their 'relationship'.

         - Immediately following pon farr, Spock and Pike worked to rebuild his shattered mental shields in a classic Vulcan-elder style.

Immediately following pon farr, despite the strain on their 'relationship', Pike agreed to allow Spock back into his mind. Using Pike's natural abilities, Spock taught Pike in the style his father had taught him. Pike's mental shields were rebuilt in a classic style known only by the Vulcan elders mixed with the unique mental-torture methods from Earth.

         - Pike and Spock and away mission team are captured by the rebirth of the Vulcan Rebels allied with the Andorians.

Those new shields were rapidly put into play as the Enterprise was requested to Vulcan after the disappearance of the Reagent. During this time, both men were captured. Spock played well into the hands of the rebels while Pike was forced under torture. The rebels believed they were 'freeing' Spock from Pike, which Spock allowed them to believe until he made his move to free Pike. Between them, they were able to escape, but unfortunately so where the rebels that had held them. They still seek the rebellion to this day.

2262 - Outside assassination attempt is made on Pike's life.

A detailed version of this assassination attempt can be read in 'fic' format. Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

2263 - PRESENT TIME (Pike 50, Spock 31, Kirk 30)

These are the ages they are when Pike entered the nu!Verse.
