The Vulcan knew he had captured his interest. It gave Spock power, and Spock was intelligent enough to use it even if only subtly. It was a part of why Pike continually asked Spock to return, because the play of power that lay between them. It was almost delicate, and perhaps in a way, binding.

"Have to remove that smile from your face." He rumbled as he leaned down, grasping Spock's chin. For tonight, it was only an idle threat. It was not always so idle.
