If Spock had been in an analytic frame of mind - and part of his mind was almost always in that frame - he would have been surprised at how quickly Pike had acheived his goal. Instead, Spock was occupied attempting and failing to restrain his own whimpers at the touches to his overly sensitive flesh. The command had been to remain very still but he could not prevent the shudders that rippled over him as Pike reached the welt at the back of his neck.

Spock was not certain he could maintain his composure through a repeat of this treatment.
