Pike always made him watch. Spock blinked up at him, eyes heated, pupils dilated, and then turned his gaze to follow his captain's movements. He hissed through clenched teeth as the glass bell was applied to the sensitive skin of his hand but managed to maintain his stillness and quiet.

This slow, drugging surrender was, Spock admitted to himself in the privacy of his mind, why he returned even as he disgusted himself by wanting the human.

There was a clarity, a singular focus granted to him in these moments and Spock knew his place in the universe, not just on the ship.
