How this meme works:
1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

I make no promises that you will like the answers to your questions. Damn 'internet' things. Don't understand them, but I'm learning.

You don't seem to have much regard for many other members of this crew, so you'll have to forgive my skepticism.

I have a certain respect for the older of the Captain James T. Kirks and his Spock. Most of your crew seem like children, but at least some of you are worth speaking with.

Jim Kirk has a little more experience in dealing with people such as yourself. My crew aren't children, they simply don't understand you. That doesn't mean they're incompetent.

For this universe, that may stand true.

Well! Who spit in your potato salad?

I'm sort of morbidly curious...was there a massacre on Tarsus IV in your universe? And if so...what happened to Governer Kodos?

Tarsus IV? That's a colony that's been successful for years. They develop some of the best weapons in the Empire. Commander Kodos is the prize-pig of the higher ups because of his turn out from the colony.

That fucker!

Is he into eugenics?

Eugenics? Not that I've ever heard of.

*snort* Well, he was in my universe. I grew up on Tarsus IV, and there was this terrible famine. He decided to take it upon himself to determine what factors in a person makes them worthy of life and which factors render them expendable.

Tarsus IV is one of the most valued colonies in the Empire. Can't imagine them growing short on food any time in the near future. The colony makes a fortune.

Crazy how different things can be from universe to universe.

My universe's Governer Kodos ordered 4000 people put to death, including my family. He later became an actor and tried to put that past behind him. Eventually, his daughter- who had an insane Electra complex- accidently shot him while trying to kill Jim. Fucking psycho.

You seem like a man with a lot of assumptions about me. Want to try asking some questions, instead?

No, not particularly.

Hello again. It seems you've been allowed more freedom on the ship; rumors must be a bit slow to catch up as I've only heard that you're still under a form of house arrest.

Feel free to question me as I've already questioned you.

Evidently you are as incapable as some of the people of reading...

1. Who are you? Name, rank, origin.

Date: 2009-11-24 01:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] iron-command.livejournal.com
And who might you be? You don't seem familiar.

1. Who did you first serve under and what was he like as a captain?
2. As I rarely find another man so attached to any Vulcan, has yours gone through pon farr?
3. You informed me that you have killed. Who, and under what circumstances?
4. Other then your ship, what would be the one thing you would want from your universe here?
5. Do you have a home on Earth? If so, where?

1. Who did you first serve under and what was he like as a captain?
Captain Garrovick, on the USS Farragut. I respected him as a leader, and also as someone who saw enough potential in someone as green as I was and gave me a chance.

He died in an attack, along with half the crew, and for years I was convinced that I had reacted too slowly to save him. Them. It's evident I was not to blame, but the guilt lingers.

2. As I rarely find another man so attached to any Vulcan, has yours gone through pon farr?
Yes. Twice in my experience. I'm telling you this openly because one such incident has been recorded by Bill and Len's "fictional" television program and the other is... probably more or less common knowledge as it happened somewhat publicly on this ship mere months ago.

The first time (in my experience), he was challenged by his intended and I was chosen as her champion. He nearly killed me, and would have had McCoy not stepped in and rigged the fight, faking my death. The second resulted in our current relationship. I prefer the latter, for the record.

3. You informed me that you have killed. Who, and under what circumstances?
It will probably not surprised you that I count those who have died under my command, though you may not see it as the same thing. I don't, either, but their deaths weigh heavily on me and I feel each one as my responsibility. But the one that comes to mind most forcibly is Gary Mitchell. He was my best friend, and I was forced to kill him in self-defense after an incident occurred which unbalanced him past the point of reason and made him violent and unstable. It is one of the most significant regrets of my life.

4. Other then your ship, what would be the one thing you would want from your universe here?
I suppose intangibles like "my command" or "my mission" don't count? And "my crew" is cheating. Actually, everything I can think of is either conceptual or just... "everything."

So I'm going to be shallow.

My uniform.

5. Do you have a home on Earth? If so, where?
My childhood home, in Iowa, is still there, and that's where I say home is if anyone counters my claim that the Enterprise is all the home I need. With Sam gone, it will go to me, and I'll cherish it. But when I have the time, I'd like to have a cabin in the woods somewhere, nestled in a valley between tall mountains.

1. Garrovick. Intriguing, as I do believe that was the man whom Kirk killed to end up on my ship, in chains.

2. Intended?

4. If you give me specifics, I could recreate that. I have already done the same for myself and my first officer.

5. Seems to be a trend among Kirks to come from that flat-fielded hell.

From: [identity profile] original-fine.livejournal.com
1. Intriguing is one word for it.

2. Less than a marriage, more than a betrothal, is how he put it. T'Pring. She ended up with some other joker.

4. Oh, that's right. It had slipped my mind. Thank you.

5. It's one of the least objectionable traits to share, in my opinion. I'd rather be like your Kirk in being from Iowa than in being chained up and starving in your brig, personally. Where are you from, anyway?

2. Completely different then my Spock.

4. I am available at any time, thanks to a sheer lack of anything to do.

5. Mojave, CA

2. I'm guessing that the subjugation of Vulcan led to many changes in their backgrounds.

How willing are you to talk about your Spock's pon farr?

4. I hear that.

5. Somehow, that's fitting.
