Kirk followed, noting the path taken--much like his own ship, as he'd found the design in general. He turned over this meeting in his mind, reminding himself to stay in character, to offer no over hostility, to pretend to be one of these weaklings until a move could be made. What that move was, he didn't know yet, but he didn't have to. He'd made himself by leaps, by following instincts which had served him well since he was a boy.
His instinct now was that Pike was dangerous, but that made him both useful and one to keep an eye on.
