Jim lay back down, not responding to the order but to some hushed quality to Pike's manner--he trusted, at least, that this was a matter of convenience for both of them. If Pike had something to say that was this urgent, Jim wanted to hear it. And he like the meddling of nurses no more than anyone else. And maybe, just maybe, he was still a wee bit woozy.
"I'm aware of that," he murmured. He hadn't, in actuality, suspected Pike of that sort of nefariousness. Not here, like this. Jim thought he would know when Pike moved against him. "What is it?" He still wanted to know about Spock. His own, and Pike's. He had seen him crumple, but Pike did not seem distraught. Must be something else.
