It took a moment (http://dctr-mccoy.livejournal.com/25780.html?thread=530100#t530100), as he awoke, for Jim to focus on the immediate area. But he was feeling, for the moment, oddly well all things considered, a slight buzz from his dream still flooding his senses.
But all was not well.
Jim was fairly certain Pike wouldn't be loitering there for his own health or amusement, and he fixed his eyes on the other man's for a moment. No security. No one had bothered. Jim wanted to trust the man. But he wasn't an idiot.
Nor was he captain here.
He rose onto his elbows, favoring the one attached to the wounded shoulder.
"Your Spock," he said, his tongue feeling a little thick with sleep and sedative. "He's...?"
