The rest did not surprise him, but the last did. It made him smirk, allowing Spock to wash him. Spock had his own ways of showing his affection. "Did you have a bit of a temper?" Amusement filtered through almost a patronizing tone, but he did not blame Spock in the least. He would have done something similar, probably to one of the crew.
