Bones had opened his mouth to greet Spock when just as sudden the younger counterpart entered, Nyota and Kirk right behind him. "His vital signs are all over the place," Bones told them, stepping away from Pike for a moment. "Elevated heart rate, blood pressure is spiking. He's been given some pain mediation, but did not want to be fully sedated."
Bones turned and looked at Kirk. "I asked him if he knew what was wrong, and he said - he said something about the shields, they couldn't be held any longer." He paused, then looked at the Vulcans, "That make any sense to any of you?"
