The remains were neatly deposited into a plastic tray, left by Kirk's body. Pike laid his hand flat on the biobed and with only a thought, the probes came in their hundreds and removed the filth from his hands and gloves. Pike looked over Kirk, nodding only once, then walked from the small room.
He leaned over to the nearest comm, turning it to shipwide announcement, and spoke clearly, "Doctor McCoy to Sickbay for an emergency. Doctor McCoy to Sickbay." His finger slid off the control, and Pike left Sickbay all together to his next meeting.
Potentially, perhaps hopefully, it would involve far less blood than this meeting had. One down, one to go.
